I was wondering the imprtance of the deflector water pass;
1. Does it line completely up with the hole in the clyinder wall
2. Will it function properly without it
3. Can I use a different size hose (the inner size)
Yes, it goes in the little cut-out section in the water passage. It may overheat without them. But it may not overheat to the point of setting off the alarm but there will be hot spots. The ID has nothing to do with it.
