deflectors

hello, I have 1988 er 120 have a problem it wants to heat up @ 1200 rpm in no wake zone, but is fine at idle,and wot. water pump replaced 8 months ago. called dealor for parts, thermostats, and deflectors they otrdered thermos but said it doesn't call for deflectors, is this correct? if thermo doesn't fix problem should i look at replacing waterpump? it has only about 10 hrs scince replaced.

120's do not have deflectors. <br /><br />Get head gaskets while youre at it.<br /><br />Did you replace the whole water pump kit or just the impeller? What brand parts?

dealor replaced waterpump it was the whole kit, should i pull the heads and check the water jacket passage ways for corrosion?

What brand parts were used?<br /><br />Might not hurt to take a look at the surfaces.
