Del Magic Boats

I am trying to find out the history of the Del Magic boats. I have tried looking on this site and also Fiberglassic and can not find out any information. I would like to know where they were made and how long they made and how many different models. I am looking at a 1972 Del Magic Infinty that I might buy..Any information would be great... Thank you..Wade

I believe they were made in Fort Worth Texas. I was looking at one a couple of years ago and got a lot of info from the seller, and that is what I remember.

I think so too. Phil Dill or Jerry Whittle Boats in Lewisville, TX. used to be the local outlet for them back in the 70's. The trend then was the tri-hull and the 15' was real popular. Most of the popular ones had bow seats, a split windshield and back to back seating in the cockpit. Seats were removable on the aft end allowing you to lay the seat flat and use it for a bed. Manufacturing methods were along the lines for the day: Wooden stringers, deck and transom, all glass coated, some chopper gun glass, hand layup glass roving for the outer part of the hull, sometimes chopper guy work behind the roving to get the desired hull thickness. Dilly was usually the trailer of choice and a lot were tilt type meaning the tongue pivoted where the outer frame formed a V at the front. Helped launching at shallow ramps. Engines were primarily OMC and Merc. A 60 hp OMC Looper on a 15' made a nice package for the money.

Does anyone can tell me where I can find any information on The Del Magic Boat Co. I tried Iboats, Fiberglassics and Google and can not seem to find any info as to where it was made, how many different models, and how long in business...Thank you..Wade
