So I am converting my 290 DA to twin 5.7's from twin 4.3's... not even close to enough power... plus blown head gasket...... I am switching from the Tunderbolt 1V to the Delco... I have searched and have not been able to find my answer.... Perhaps someone here has direct knowledge as to the wiring....
I think I am overthinking it....... I have only 2 wires from the new ignition set up... both from the new coil... one gray, and one purple...... I also have to wires from the old coul that I cut out.... It is actually that simple..... just splice the two together..??
I also need to splice in the interrupt switch.... I am aware that it needs 12v, but not 100% sure where to get it from....

TIA

Is very simple. Power to ignition, fuel pump and electric choke is the purple wire coming from the ignition switch.

Would that be in the harness that is the main plug on engine?
Also would I use that same purple wire on the interrupt switch??
Thanks

Yes. The interrupt switch is not powered, it grounds when it closes and is hooked to the negative side of the coil

I stand corrected. How's the interrupt work then?
The interrupt switch when closed during coming out of gear momentarily supplies 12 v plus to the est module in the distributor . What you mentioned is correct fro a non est merc thunderbolt system. Slight rewiring as outlined in the link i attached is required for the est system. Both work just fine

Yeah, not familiar with the EST. Assumed grounding the neg from the coil killed spark...
