Re: Deleted emails

perhaps your isp server may have the email. Doubtful, my isp server transfers the email to me and is gone from their server at that point. Just a thought.

Otherwise......

Re: Deleted emails

Outlook Express moves them to the Deleted File.......
I believe Outlook does the same thing.....

Is that what you mean by "Windows System" ???

Re: Deleted emails

If you're using outlook express, you can set your final delete function several ways.

one it goes to the delete folder and stays until you 'final' delete it.

two you set your delete folder to 'final' delete on exit of outlook express.

three you set the delete function up so that when you delete it is gone immediately. None of them go to the trash bin.

You can check your settings in the 'maintanance tab' in 'options' in the tools button. I think default is that it just goes to the delete folder till you final delete it. It will always give a warning before final delete.

Ok, sorry I am not familiar with that one. If it is a web based email, like yahoo, hotmail etc., once you send it your delete folder, the server comes thru, at some inteval, and does the final delete for you. If you had just sent it there by accident, you usually have enough time to scavange back out before the come thru for the clean sweep of your delete folder.

If you want to prevent that from happening, make a new folder, call it Semi-Delete, and move email from your inbox to that folder. Created folders usually store the mail on your hard drive and whatever you put in one will stay there until you delete it.

Re: Deleted emails

I'm sure Microsoft has kept a copy of it, since they're keeping copies of all emails.

Re: Deleted emails

It is gone... bye..bye.. You first delete the email and it goes to the trash bin, then you deleted it again from the trash bin and this time it is gone.
