LOL, thats funny....

I deleted the thread about my anchor line getting run over by an "mature" guy in a pontoon boat recently.
I re-read it and I sounded like an *** .

"poof"

Yeah, they do love water. They also like to mess up peoples boats. We're gonna have to start sueing those few that hang out near our boat launches in the summer. Maybe they'll learn to stop messing up our props. They won't stop jumping up and hitting our props. I guess they get a kick out of it. LOL couldn't resist. I'm sure some of you know what I'm referring to. LOL  :p

Ok,

Wife and I were fishing last week, on Monday I think.
15 year old daughter was with us.
They were driving me crazy......
I had to keep baiting their lines as they didnt want to touch the minnows....

We found a spot we liked and I put out the anchor, we were in only 7 feet of water or so, about 150 feet from shore. The wind was pretty good, even with the anchor we were slowly drifting to shore. Anchor is a flute style on yellow poly-rope.

After 10 minutes or so, I see a pontoon boat round the point that was 100 yards or more from us. There is like 3/4 mile of lake for this guy to go to but he comes our way. I'm on a 22 foot deckboat. Pontoon boat comes closer and I'm wondering how close is he gonna come. I see it's 2 older couples on the Pontoon.
He passes not to far from us, I wave , they wave, we all wave.....

A few minutes later I see were getting really closer to shore. I think, "what the heck"
I got to re-set the anchor, and pull up nothing but yellow rope and see the end is shredded.
Pontoon boat ran over my anchor line. :(

He didnt come "that" close to us but the line was played out some from drifting.

I went out on Wednesday to the spot to search for the rope, hopefully I could see it floating and pull up the anchor. It's only 7-9 feet of water. I searched for an hour or so, no such luck. Bought another anchor at Wally-World... 15 bucks and new anchor line.

So.... has this happened to anyone else? :D

Yep--been flat line trolling, couple hundred feet of line out...old half senile goats on a party barge pass just off my stern. I try to wave them off..they smile an empty headed grin and wave back. Good by shallow running plugs or buck tails.

Yep again--bunch of folks soaking alewives off break wall on lake Michigan for Salmon. Some stupid oblivious yuppie in a 32' cigarette runs parallel to break wall collecting terminal tackle.

Ought to be a law.
