"Reid told reporters he would no longer attempt to win passage for nonbinding measures and would turn his attention to legislation designed to force Bush to change course. House Democratic leaders intend to do likewise."

So now the dems want to run the Military? We are doomed if this is allowed to happen!! Let the military run the war in Iraq, not some suit in Congress.

It will happen, I'm afraid.
Just as France and Spain before us, the spineless are selling us to the lowest bidder. Liberals detest the military for stout, proven reasons. They also have a bug up their transom drains for civilian police forces.
They seem to have a desire to foamate anarchy, just as they did in 1970. I just hope they aren't as successful. Those who forget history, (or have not lived it), are doomed to repeat it.

They got what they wanted. While the Republicans that did vote voted Nay, those that would've voted Yay abstained (too chicken to go on record). But the Dems got the info they were after. They now know the Republicans that are sympathetic with their position on the war, and they know who the Republican rubber-stamps are. It's a slam-dunk, just not a swisher.

I have sent this Senators hagel and nelson

I am appalled and disappointed that a senator from Nebraska would vote for and be a co-sponsor of a resolution against a plan that has even had a chance to succeed. You do not represent me or the folks that I know of. I used to respect you, but no more mister nelson!
It is unbelievable what democrats will do to destroy this county. You used to be a man of character, now you are just another tool of party that wants to bring America to its knees.
This non binding vote is only a step to defunding an important war and weakining America and I am ashamed to have you represent me in the Senate.
I think you have lost touch with the folks of Nebraska and are going along with the beltway for some unknown reason. I am going to encourage others to write you. Be the person that was elected to represent us, not a pawn or lemming.
If you feel that the war in Irqa needs to end, then sponser a BINDING resolution to cut the funds.

Real easy to defeat America these post - Nam days. #1 Drum beat for Dems n' Libs n' the MSM: try to 'understand' n' 'talk' our enemies, (victims of our, [USA's], past bad deeds) no matter what they have done or want. (If there are talks): criticize unilateral talks as not 'involving our friends', or multi lateral: as not being the 'right approach', n' if it works for a few minutes: Bush shoulda done this in January 2001 #2 Characterize some of the 'victories' by the enemy, (homicide boming, sawin' off heads,et al) as jus' like our Founding Fathers 'cause we don't understand 'em n' we, (mean Republicans at least), caused it in the first place. #3 Characterize some of the enemy's victories, (bombing of people, soldiers, or Mosques) as ol' George Bush bein' STUPID, not the evil nastiness of the enemy, (who are victims of mean Republicans: after all). #4 Show any casualties or mistakes to the whole world n' characterize 'em as bein' far worse then anything the enemy (victims of us anyway) has done. #5 Once you've worn down the American people with the above: pretend ta be from the center ta win elections when demoralized Cornservatives stay home, then engineer a defeat that ya blame on Bush to secure power in all branches of Government. Result: Defeat and Democrats in power! :}Yeah! :}JR
