dent lower unit

How much abuse or bend will the lower unit absorb without causing damage to the gears?I understand location of dent would be important.With my lower unit the bend begins at front and bottom of lu and extends approx 1 inch and is approx 1/16 deep.On the magnet there was some metal,but so fine you had to feel it more than see.Thanks Front

If it is not binding, I would stick close to the ramp for an hour or two thend check the gear oil again for metal. If OK - you should be all right. Kind of hard to tell from a forum post though.
