some of you guys are really stupid bayliner/force bashers (idiots)
#1 when did it say anywhere in the post that the transom and stringers are rotten? oh it didnt.. that transom is new dumb a**. the boat was really taken good care of by the other owner.the ins company looked at the boat before insuring it and said they have not seen a boat that old in that good condition.and insured the boat for 6000.00. hhmmmm. i really wish people who dont know anything really shouldnt say any thing..i could go on but i dont feel like stooping to a dummys level..and to the others thanks for trying to help.

A Top Quality Transom, with No Rot, That's been Rebuilt, Properly,......
Doesn't "Just Fail"........

While I'm sure there are Exceptions,.....
Generally speaking,... A Bilgeliner that's over 20 years old,....Is a Rotten pile of Junk.....

Aren't insurance premiums based on the estimated value of the boat? You insurance co may have taken you for a bit of a ride by increasing the estimated value of the boat which resulted in you paying higher premiums. In good condition, you may get $1500 to $2000, but definitely not $6k.

ok guys .. FACTS ARE IN... i took to shop after insurance companycame and looked at it found out yep new transom crappy job. what happened is the person that did the repair cut the dang transom off the boat andthen put a new one and tried to connect it back with aluminum angle iron didnt know that till i was told by boat shop. well the boat is insured for 6000.00 and with no depresiated value meaning they have to fix repairs up to 6000.00 if 6001.00 they total the boat. im at bout 4000.00... thanks guys and have a GREAT DAY.

Yup, BAAAD repair....Angle iron?! Didn't know they made a steel bilgeliner
