Depth Finder Problem

I got a set of lowrance depth finders on Craigslist for 15 bucks. One is an X87 and it works perfect. The other is a X70a. The screen seems to have some issues. Does anyone know if this is a problem that can be fixed. I'm guessing the screen is just bad. Right now its just adjusted to show the blank lines on the depth finder...normally the screen shows up with information just those dead pixel lines are still there.

Also, what is the deal with the white wire in the photo?

Oh also, is it ok to hook up this depth finder to the same battery as my trolling motor. I'm thinking about mounting this transducer on my trolling motor.

Man that unit was awesome back in the day. I'm sorry but Lowrance does not service that unit anymore. Yes it look like your lcd screen is going out.

Thanks Jason. I can still see the screen good enough to use it so thats ok its going out I guess. Who knows, maybe it will get better

Any idea what that white wire is for? How about the possibility of hooking it up to the same battery the trolling motor is hooked up to?
