Man is it good to be back on the water!!

All systems ck good.
The only problem I had was my new depth finder I installed.
It worked at first but after about 1/2 an hour on the water it went to its default settings.
Those are the readings it gives if you turn it on and it is not in the water.

I thought maybe it came loose or shifted to the wrong angle.
When I loaded the boat and pulled it out of the water the tranducer hadnt moved.Same spot it was in when I launched. The wires are hard wired into the tranducer.
I have no idea what is wrong with it??

It is an Eagle.
Any thoughts??

Re: Depth finder problems

Loose connection/pin in the transducer cable to unit connection?

If not that, go to Lowrance.com and get some help. Is it in warranty? They have excellent customer service.

Good luck.

Re: Depth finder problems

Is it a transducer thru-hall or is it like a fly wheel?

On my Boston Whaler, I have a Flywheel, but sometimes when I am scrubbing the bottom it pops up. It has a lock down mechanism in it where it locks in the down position until touched again. Maybe thats the problem?

JAZZ ;)

Re: Depth finder problems

You should be able to hear the transducer if you listen closely to it with the boat out of the water. This would establish whether it is working or not. If you have a colleague with another Eagle (hopefully with the same connections) try putting your display onto his transducer. You will then establish whether it is your unit or your transducer that is at fault.
As was said Eagle / Lowrance have one of the best customer service going so do not worry too much.
Andy

Re: Depth finder problems

Well I went outside today and put the tranducer in a bucket of water.I didnt disconnect anything I just put the bucket to where the tranducer is mounted on the transom.

I turned on the depth finder and it worked fine.

I read the owners manual and it said if I am having these problems it is most likely noise interference. Noise will cause it to freeze, lock up, or act erratic. It said it was most likely electrical noise and to wire the unit directly to the battery using 14 gauge wire.
That is how I was originaly going to wire it but I couldnt find 14 gauge wire anywhere.
Not at lows, home depot , radio shack.

If I use 12 gauge wire will it cause problems??
