Depth finder question

The Vexilar transducer puck for my depth finder came loose. I cleaned all of the old adhesive off and want to remount it on the bottom of the fiberglas hull. I don't have the Vexilar adhesive, obviously , and wondered if I could mount it with silicone. Also, can you place adhesive under the puck, between it and the hull?

clean the surfaces with acetone...apply 3M 5200 adhesive to either surface, tape in place,careful not to use more adhesive than needed (sticky stuff) let dry 24 hrs..it'll NEVER come off.

It is important that you not create any air bubbles when you set the puck in place.
