I have a Faria in-dash depth gauge that I had installed at the factory as a back-up to my fishfinder/sonar unit. It has served me well so far. They also make the same unit with air and water sensors. They are made in the U.S.A.
Here's their link if you want to know more:

And here's where you can buy it on iboats:

Ok, just got off the phone with iboat. They really couldnt help me. I thought that guage came with everything i need. It is just the guage. I need to get a transducer also. Hmmm. I tried calling Faria but no one home.
Yes, the transducer is inside the hull mounted (not sure where as it was installed when the boat was built). I frequently look to see if there is a difference in the reading between my fishfinder/sonar, which has a transom mounted transducer, and the in-dash. Rarely has there been a difference in the readings (maybe a tenth of a foot only if off at all).
Too bad about the call to Faria. I've never had to contact them, but I do like their gauges so far (Hurricane used Faria on all my gauges). I just tried them too and got a voice recording from a customer service agent. They are in CT and maybe close before 5PM EST. I noticed a .pdf Manual you can download on the web page I linked to. Maybe that document can help you answer some question until you can get to try them back.
