Quick question. I bought a boat with a through-hull transducer. My problem is that my depth gauge reads only .5 feet at all times. Is there a way that I can test the transducer to make sure that it is working? I'd hate to have to replace it.

No way to test a transducer other than to buy a new one.

Put your hand on it and you should feel it pulsing.

Yes dingbat you can test them

1. What is the head unit
2. Where are you trying to test it
3/ Is this boat in the water all the time
4/ Is it bottom painted
5. Have you used a bottom finder before

Curious...Which one of your 5 points is testing the transducer?
