I love my new 2005 Crestliner 1850SF and I love the boat. Unfortunately, Crestliner designers likely did not think out the placement of the Stern Livewell Light and Aerator Switches which are located on the starboard aft sidewall right where you step onto the swim platform/ladder. More than once I inadvertantly hit the aerator switch while exiting the boat after securing the cover. Guess what, DEAD CRANKING BATTERY. Of course I found out after my trip from NJ to VT when I went to lift the motor off the transom saver bar and - NOTHING

I guess I need some kind of guard over the toggles.

Or shut the batterys off. You probably won't hit the switch again :D

Install a cover for them. That way you can only turn them on by opening the cover first.

There is no MAIN Shut Off.

If I move them I end up with a hole in the Vinal padding.

I'll try the cover.

Probably right, I wont do it again but if someone is helping me, I'm not so sure.

Add a battery shutoff. This is a must in my book. You'll find another switch to leave on no matter where they place it . . . ;)

Crestliner has been putting battery switches in their boats for quite awhile now. It's rather small, not like one of those you usually see offered. It has a red plastic key that turns and removes. It should be near the battery.

I bet as soon as brunswick bought crestliner from genmar they stopped putting in those switches in.
Take a look at the difference in quality from 2004 to 2005. And notice they are now only availible with a merc.
My buddy bought the same 1850sf at the beginning of 2005 and the boat he got was not the same as the 2004 demo he looked at.
Only after the dealer took his deposit and ordered the boat did he tell my buddie that oh by the way the boats only come prerigged for mercs now and if you still want the honda its going to cost you to take all the merc rigging out and then rerig for honda.
Nice riding boat though. Smooths out the chop way better than the starcraft he sold me.

I'll check for the switch or I think I'll add one!

I got the boat with a F150 Yammy and a 9.9HT Yammy. Took some talking.

So far it seems the rest of the boat is made well. I have not had any other problems except that the Keel Guard had to be removed because the reinforced keel was too high. Keel Guard admitted that if the keel is raised about an inch the Guard will not install corretly.
