So, trying everything before tearing off the heads...Had some welding done to cavitation plate, could drive shaft have gotten hot enough during this to damage main seal where driveshaft enters engine? AND if so, IS there even water behind that seal? Engine was running great when I got the oil light, shut it down and discoved milk for oil...

You could remove the LU and nothing could get in the crank case.

My money is on a cracked block

Being a 4 stroke Suzuki motor of an unknown age I am not familiar with, my guess would be, corrosion eating thru some where on the block where both water and oil passages are close to each other but do not know where the likely places would be.

how about a blown head gasket.

I do not see how welding on the leg would get the drive shaft hot, much less how even if it did how water would get to the oil if the seal was hurt

The most common cause of water in the oil is a bad thermostat that is stuck open and not allowing the motor to warm up. So check that first.
