To all our resident pro's - I could not list them all!

I have a can of OMC tuner that attaches to a schrader valve. Could I make a T fitting and put it inline after the fuel pump? OR I could put it inline before the pump? This would get all 3 carbs at once instead of jumping around.

I could leave the valve inplace for future use or take it out.

I can adapt the same fitting to a can of Sea Foam Deep creep.

My concern is that the motor would then run on 100% deep creep or OMC tuner depending on what I inject via my valve.

What do the resident pro's think? I value your insight.

Thanks.

Bob

I am afraid that the pressure might damage the pump diaphram the tuner should work great if just used the old fashened way and sprayed thru the carbs, the fitting is for fuel injected engines

What if after the pump? I am just working on a method for all carbs at once.

Bob, I am not sure but we used to buy it from mercury in regular cans and OMC also sold it that way, we used to run it in stockoutboard races before they started testing fuel and it would not pass. This should get me in hot water with the decarb guys but I think that most of it's just hype in 45 years of servicing outboards I really only found one engine that needed it and we run engines from 12 to 1 to 50+ to 1 In racing and have never have had to decarb one along the way, we have won 3 or 4 National Championships so they don't run to bad. The best advice I can give anyone is use high quality oil, do normal maintenance and if your fuel system is dirty clean it. If you want to try a cleaner in the fuel system buy carb and injector cleaner. THE WONDER STUFF WON'T REBUILD ANYTHING, if it's dirty take it apart and clean it if you can't find a mechanic you can trust and get it done. I have been reluctant in the past to just say it but I think most of the decarbing is hype--Bob

Thank you for an honest answer.. I agree however, I have de-carbed neglected motors and gotten the rings freed up. I was amazed at it being a "wonder drug" for my '67 rude and recently I picked up a I-6 115 and peeked into the cylinders. They had varied amounts of carbon and I would like to equal them out - starting fresh. I had run an old Mark 30 (1955) on a D class and that never showed carbon. It all depends on the past maintenance.

In cases like that I like to soak them a couple of days before I even try to start them Bob Good luck
