(diafram prob..) plz help

i have a 87 mariner 75 hp the diafram must be bad cause it leaks water from the weep hole can this make the motor lug down at the take off and pop back when idling???? (runs great at top speeds) and water stops dripping <br /><br />thanks howster

Sorry im confused.. are you talking about a poppet valve? or a bad fuel pump diaphram.. Fuel pump diaphrams will not leak water and a poppet valve will not make your engine bog unless the engine is running cold at idle. That would explain poor idle quality please specify..

thanks for the reply rod knocking the motor does run cold at idle speed why is that how do i fix this problem (i guess its the poppit valve its own the back right next to the plugs on the head<br />

Usually the poppit valve(atleast on the v6s)are on the port side of the block...Better find a dealer with a parts breakdown of your motor( get your serial #) to see what your refering to. Where in Texas are you?

IS THIS POPPIT VALVE HARD TO CHANGE? IM PICKING UP THE CHILTONS ON IT TOMORROW SO I CAN GO THREW THIS THING I JUST BOUGHT IT AND ITS KILLING ME ILL CHECK EVERYTHING HOPE IT WAS WORTH IT!!!<br /> IM LIVE IN BRIDGE CITY RIGHT NEXT TO ORANGE ON THE LA BOARDER
