So after my first test on the water with my first boat I found its issues. I purchased it with around a month left of snow so I couldnt test it right away. However I was out on the same boat last fall (knew the guy I got it from) and it was running like a top. He said he only burned premium in it and might have seafoamed it:confused:? Anyways he did fog the cylinders too and installed a new set of plugs. The boat is a 1994 Lowe 1730 with a 1994 Johnson 70hp on it with power tilt and trim. Anyways back to the issue I found, the boat started and idled fine on the muffs at home, and we were able to rev it fine, so we took it down to the river and backed it in, everything is still great. It fired right up and idled for awhile still hooked on the trailer and when we felt confident we unhooked it and i backed it off the trailer, then idled it up to shore waiting for my dad. He hopped in, we drove away from shore and opened it up, the boat revved up fine and slapped it up on plane and away went for like 100yds, then I lifted a little on the throttle and down she went. It bogged right down and started to sound(and feel) like it was only running on one or two cylinders. I shut it down and dropped anchor to start inspecting. Of course I forgot my plug wrench so I couldnt check the plugs. It was then I noticed that where the fuel line clips into the holder the gas line was kinked. So I pulled it out of the holder and pumped the ball back to solid (where it stayed the whole time) and as soon as i turn the key it fires up, but still not running on all 3. Instead of potentially risking harming something by driving it this way (or even trying) I decided to troll it home. After this all happened a couple times I tried to take off with it by putting it into gear with just a bog down. After getting the boat home I discovered that the plugs in it were wrong, so I ran to the store and looked in the book and got the plugs the book told me to get. When I checked them at home they all were wet and had the same burn on them and the burn looked good. I feared the plugs were the wrong length too, but both the wrong ones it had and the new ones were the same length. Then I went to the gas station and put in 10gallons of premium fuel (so i assume it must have had 1/2 tank in it???). Then I replaced the plugs with the new ones, put new plug wires on it, installed a new fuel filter, changed out the lower unit oil, and my impeller is good, so what next if after I try it on tuesday and it still holds an issue? Im hoping it doesnt. Also Im confident that this is not a carb problem because if it was I would have noticed the signs almost immediately. Lastly do you guys think I should dump a bottle of ISO-HEET in the tank in case of water? What do you guys think? Did i hit everything? (p.s. I did grease everything up too)

Did you take a fuel sample from the tank to check for water in the fuel? The engine will run with some water in the fuel, but won't make any hp.
