The only bad thing about the switch in the "both" position is that you can forget it, and then you could run both batteries down to the point where you are dead in the water. That's why I really like the combiner, or Bruce58's bluesea ACR. When there is sufficient power to charge both batteries the device will throw the switch for you. When you are drawing down the system the device will isolate a starting battery. The lower lever yandina is good to 100 amps, and there are others with higher amp levels. Since my 55 hp Johnny puts out 6 amps I'm good with the 100. :D

mark1905 you remind me of a guy i work with. he asked if i had any fuses around 400amps. i thought what would you want a 400amp fuse for........he said his new car system popped the 400 in the car park.......i didnt even know that they made a car fuse that size. hes upgraded now to a 400 breaker still pops when you stand outside the car and use the remote to wind up the stereo. personaly i dont understand it but then he proberly wouldnt understand why i would change the turbo intake for 6 more hp on my car. i dont think people here understand that this can be a passion and burning up batterys, cracking fiberglass and a host of other thing is something to be overcome its not realy a problem

"burning up batterys, cracking fiberglass and a host of other thing is something to be overcome its not realy a problem" The only places I've seen 400 amp fuses is in industrial power systems and forklifts. I have often wondered if those audiophiles are crazier than boaters. More power to them:).
