If you used it just to spray them out then you should be ok, what you don't want to do is soak them in it too long.

Once you provide the model number of the motor we can go further into potential issues.

No it cant hurt anything. As far as i know the only thing that it could hurt is if you have the plastic float bowls and you submersed them in cleaner for more than 10 mins or an hour.

sorry, It`s an evinrude 88 spec 1999 about. just can`t get full power anymore. It`s tough to get bow down , it use to take off, now its slow, bummer fishing season is here. Can the carb cleaner mess something up. top port plug seamed cold at higher speed. engine ran the same with spark plug wire off that same cylinder. sprayed carb cleaner into high speed jet no different {didn`t remore it } about 125psi still in all cylinders

If you took the carbs off to clean, you could have disrupted the linkage and synchronization step. Get a factory manual, the procedure to 'link n sync' is in there and is very detailed. It basically lines up the timing changes with the carb throat opening.

Generally if you have a fuel problem , spraying fuel into the carb or pumping the primer bulb will make a difference in performance.

You also cannot forget about spark, most engines can idle fine with only a few cylinders firing but tend to bog down under load if all are not firing. So check to make sure you have strong spark on all holes.

I did pump the bulb, didn`t spray fuel in. The spark is very strong, I don`t thing the top port cylinder is getting much fuel. I`ll try that linkage and synchronization step. I don`t thing there a leak in the gaskets the engine bogs downs when I cover that carb in take with a rag. Are there people around that rebuild these carbs anymore . I dont know how to do it is it hard. thanks foe all your help It`s a big help

Hey Frank, If the carb is not of plastic, you didn't mess it up. How ever, if the carb/s weren't completely taken apart, then I would say the some trash is hung up somewhere in the high speed circuit. Going to have to do a complete overhaul and blown out with compressed air.
