Thanks skippy, Just wondering the bolts are on the bottom of the powerhead so how will the penatration get into the threads to break the gunk out of there if the engine is up right or even on a 90 degree tilt? thanks for the reply i will be getting the gas treatment.

What I'm thinking is that everything has been rusted together... Might take a bit to get it loose... make sure that all bolt heads are ground off... and that there isn't a bit left to one or two to hang things up even a tiny piece will catch. That power head will have to come straight off as there won't be much play on the sides of whats left of the bolts. soak it all in penetrating oil.... Spray it everywhere the block sits on the exhuast and on the bolts you cut off.... Might seem like it will just drip... but some should move upwards towards the power head. If you can get it to budge even the slightest thats a good sign... keep doin it til it busges all the way around and then lift straight off.

Thanks dave i have bought the PB blaster that skip suggested. i sprayed some on and will let it sit for about a week and a half.

The only reason i am going to let it sit for so long is i am getting deployed to do some training this week and part of next week. The PH will not give the slightest. Oh well It will come off one of these day i will keep you posted as soon as i get back.

Thanks for all the help.

You can also heat the area where the bolts go up in the mid section with a butane or mapp gas torch it will loosen the salt crud. Remember no rust as the bolts are stainless and the midsection is alumnium. Heat almost always works for me
