Here is an very old photo of my 21' 1963 Starcraft Sunchief I am the original owner and am still using the boat. The motor in the pix is a salvaged 80hp direct reversing mercury that had been submerged for a number of years, now has a 135 hp mercury. Sorry for the poor qulity of the photos is a digital copy of an old film slide. I have tons of photos of the boat but none show the useable space. Was a great dive/ fishing/ camping/ and watering skiing boat. With the high sides made it hard for the wee one's to fall out of. Only complaint it is a hard riding boat as it is a flat bottom.. Not many around.

That is EXACTLY what I want. It is just like mine but long enough to squeeze in another row of seats

I don't think I'd try 3 rows of seats, seems an awful waste of space, what's your current boats' capacity? That may be a good reason to NEED a larger platform.

Converting to a bowrider won't change the person capacity of the boat, just the # of choices available to sit in.

Doesn't matter if it's a 60lb kid or an adult, it's a combined total: X #of people up to a set weight limit. But if you reach the max capacity of people before you reach max weight, it doesn't matter that you still have 500lbs of weight capacity available.

If you can accommodate the whole family and friends in the current boat's capacity, you might consider a large U shaped bench that wraps from where the port fold out back to back seats stops when open around to the same place at the helm.

My $0.02

The boat will handle 8 but configuring seating for 8 is challenging.

I have 108 " from dash to splashwell and 68" between the gunwhales. 2 back to backs and a rear bench gets me 7 spots

I guess I'll make do with this one until I get a 21' outboard. I just hate to spend the time and money building the 18' then finding a 21' a few days later.

I just cannot seem to find one for sale right now. I found several I/o versions but no outboard.

Welcome to my world Homie,I've been looking too, OB 18' V5 SS has been out of my grasp here. I would even probably drop the V5 requirement if I found one within my state. Closest was 2 States away and when I decided to try for the boat it was gone. I may have to just go on a long road trip one of these days to get what I want.
