Did Wallyworld change their supplier or did I get defective TCW oil?

I opened a new gallon of SuperTech TC-WIII oil today. I had used the stuff for years and expected to see the usual royal blue oil color. What came out was medium green and seemed thinner than the usual. I put some of the green and the blue into identical containers to see if I could detect any difference.

After shaking and looking, it appears the blue stuff has more body, but admittedly my test method is not real scientific. Anyone have any ideas? Anyone ever hear of defective oil?

Good grief!! So green oil is supposed to be not as good as blue oil?? If Shell made it it is good oil.

You could do a viscosity test.
I'm not an artist but isn't blue and green in the same color family? Maybe they just changed the dye or amount?
Just a thought.

Be careful, mixing oils can result in them building sludge up in the bottom of the oil tank.

The oil is dyed simply so you know it is added to the gasoline. Color makes no difference.

Run your engine with the green oil and if it seizes then sue Wal-Mart. LOL

Folks, thanks for the responses. I realize that one color of oil dye is just as good as the other. That is not the issue. I like green. I was hoping someone knew if Wallyworld had changed suppliers.

Has anyone ever had a batch of defective oil? I have never seen that, but was curious.

Used Chevron 2t TCW-3 blue dyed for years which was viscose while pouring, switched to Amalie, which has less viscosity and it's green like the Incredible Hulk, both performs excellent, dye and viscosity will not give tech issues or better, worse performance. Just check to buy TCW-3 rated.

Happy Boating

Someone at Walmart Purchasing in Bentonville, Arkansas could tell you if they've changed suppliers or just formulas/dyes.....probably have to do some digging around to find that out!....better to just go fishing!;) Good Luck!
