I posted this in non-repair forum, but it's actually time sensitive so I'm posting it here hoping a Yamaha person can help me out... I'm supposed to sign off on this deal on Saturday...

I just closed this week on a new Alumcraft Navigator and 2007 Yamaha F90. The sales rep called this AM to tell me the boat I picked is already been pre-rigged with an 06 Yamaha 90.

He says they are completely identical, and has offered a slight discount (About $300).

Are these motors indeed exactly the same?

He also mentioned that 04 and up Yamaha 90hp, for whatever reason, actually produces 100hp at the prop. I have found nothing anywhere to verify this. Not that it matters, but any truth to this?

Thanks!

Re: Difference a year makes?

Scotty, it is bad etiquette to double post.

The important difference is one says 2006 on the title and is depreciated a heck of a lot more than $300, the other says 2007 on the title and is considered a new engine.

Check Nada.com values.

nbrackin: It is very very bad etiquette to hijack someone elses thread with any new question. It is also futile to ask a question without identifying your engine and giving useful information. Your engine would explode well before reaching 40,000rpm.

Please start a new thread and give us the required info.

Thanks.
