Difference between a 1995 Mercury Sea Pro 25 and a 25EL

I cant seem to find any info about what is different between a 25EL and a 25 Sea Pro (or Marathon).

I recently got a 1995 Mercury 25 HP EL. I sent away for an owners manual and got a 20-25 SeaPro/Marathon manual.
My S/N 0G191236.
Anybody please explain the differences in the model designations?

Mechanically the same. The sea pro probably has more resistance to salt water than a standard 25. The biggest difference I believe is the sea pro/marathon has a side shift instead of on the tiller.

You are correct. I received a reply from Merc Customer Service stating that the only real difference is the extra corrosion resistance on the Sea pro. Mine has no tiller as it is set up for remote controls. Thanks for your info.
