I've recently purchased a 2001 Johnson 100hp J100WPLSIF On the hood it says Commercial. I've tried to look up some info on this but am having a hard time finding much about it. What is the difference from this and a regular Johnson?

There are some (obvious) styling differences, the commercial models probably don't have oil jnjection although it can be added and the V4 you're looking at probably has a larger gearcase with a lower gear ratio.

I have a 150 commercial, I've been told the gearbox is bigger and gear ratio lets it turn a bigger screw. More low end torque I guess, not screamers but strong. The BBC boards have all the literature from the past 100 yrs if you want to look up the sales spiel. Supposedly they can run on cheapo gas due to lowered compression. Although everyone runs regular now.
