Could anyone explain to me the year difference between three wire and two wire tilt and trim for a OMC? I have a 1973 115hp Johnson that I would like to install a tilt and trim, or just power tilt assist. When you go on ebay or other sites, there is so many availble, how do you know which would fit?

Thanks

Most of the units will not fit, regardless of the trim motor wiring. The units that will fit are for V4 motors built between 1973 and 1977. They look like the ones in the thumbnail. Originally they had three wire motors.

You will pay dearly for one of these units. Start considering a CMC. Other alternative is search CL for a junk motor that has TnT. The units on ebay will get bid up to over $400. I had a '73 85 and tried for years to find an OEM TnT for it for a reasonable price.

Re: Difference between three and two wire tilt

Thank you all for the replies, the CNC tilt trim is where everyone pushes me. I was hoping to find a regular tilt and trim, or power tilt assist since the engine is on a 1969 Boston Whaler. Closes to orginial configuration is desired.

But again thank you for the replys, it was a big help.
