Difference in 29 sportster models

Guys, what is the difference in the 1969 25 hp evinrude sportsters? i have a 25902B and was just given a 25902D. Are they identical? Both are pull starters and short shafted. Nothing visual to me making them different.

The B and D indicate any mid year changes that MAY have been made.

Sometimes there are no changes. And if there where than it should be nothing major.

No listing that you can obtain. Could be anything from a vendor supplied part change to an assembly procedure change the factory deemed necessary to note. Most of the time not something to concern yourself with. If different parts are used then it will be spelled out in electronic parts books (usually)!

If you really want to know badly enough, sit down with the original parts lists and compare everything. Non-original parts lists may show the superseded part and you'll have a hard time finding it. Frankly, unless the part was a notorious trouble-maker, it isn't worth the effort.
