what are the difference in a mallory or a siera carb does it matter which one u put on a 1973 ?40 horse evinrude

I would personally put an Evinrude carburetor on an Evinrude. If you are talking about the carb repair kits, then both will do fine. The factory kit will have the float in it, while the Sierra or Mallory will not.
