That is a beautiful picture of the boat with the mountains in the back.

What is a removable ski platform? Is it some sort of swim platform extension?

Yes, an extended swim deck that can be removed for storage, (tight in garage).

The lake is actually part of the Salt River, 4 dams create nice series of lakes in the canyon.

The platforms are bolted on intended to be permanent on older boats where they are not molded in as in the last few years. I could possibly see a twice a year install/disassemble to fit into winter storage but taking it off and putting it on each use out of the garage would be a massive pain.

Agreed, the holes would be sealed as permanent. Storage is the reason I don't have a platform or a longer boat.
