Different Color Braided Line???

So I am at the local fishing shop and I got my reel done up with yellow braided line. I fish mostly in the San Pablo Bay, Bodega Bay, and the Napa River. He said it would be just the same as the regular dark green braided line but I'll be able to see it in the early morning better and late at night. I am sitting here on my couch looking at it and keep thinking that the fish will see it and just swim away. Maybe not a sturgeon, but I'd like to be able to use this setup for sharks and striper too. Maybe I'm being stupid, maybe I don't know any better, maybe the guy just wanted to get rid of some yellow line he bought and it wasn't selling. I don't know why I didn't just go with what I have had experience with (dark green) and not try something new. So, what do you guys think about the green or yellow braided line. Did I just waste $35 getting this reel filled?

I am given a lot of different lines to try out before they hit the market, braid, mono, every imaginable color.....color makes no real difference, if you can match the shade of the water then it can't hurt but otherwise the bite has been the same on all of them, it's the baits, live or artificial that makes the difference.

I fish relatively shallow (under 100') and don't do a lot of inshore stuff, so I have yet to get the feel and need for using braid. I change my mono frequently, and use two or three brands. The reason i use colored lines is to keep track of the # test of the line. All my clear is 50#. My blue is 30#. My green is 40#. These are all on similar rigs, Shimano tld's and Penns and helps me take what I need when we head out. And as Sam mentioned, I don't think the fish really care. They are more interested in your bait, the tide and the barometer!....

That application is where braid really stands out. Give it a try. You'll never look back.

Fish don't care what color line you use. I use yellow braid on all my Striper trolling stuff so I can see the lines behind the boat. I use Hi-vis on all my surf stuff for the same reason. If you feel the need, run a fluorocarbon top shot on the braid.

that's a really good idea rick, using the color coded line. I prefer mono for certain applications, trolling and wreck fishing for the give, braid is great around mangroves and docks plus I run fluro on everything anyways.
