What is the difference between the optimax 90 and 115 hp. They have the same number of cyclinders and displacement. Is there anyway to convert a 90hp optimax to 115hp?

Thanks,

I'd say the difference is about 25.

Pretty obvious it's about 25......not too familiar with those motors but they are direct injected right? So I believe that theres a little more to change than just the carb. On most smaller motors with everything the same you can swap the carb and adjust the timing and you get the other motor. On these I would think the injectors, carbs, timing, and maybe some computer tuning would need to be done and changed. And also you have to look at the gear ratio of the lower unit, is it the same of different. On small motors you gain some speed and a few horses, but on something that size your gaining considerable speed and a herd of horses, even though the blocks are the same, I bet everything else is different. Someone else may chime in and make this thing seem brighter and easier.

Gear ratio and PCM is the difference, to change your 90 to a 115 get a 115PCM($1600) and a 2.07:1 gear set($560) and yer ready!!:D
