Twin Volvo Penta
4.3 GXI on a 2003 28.60 Regal
Engines cold, first turn of key each engine starts fine
Drive few miles fishing grounds .
Close engines.
Around 1/2 hr if I need too move engines are difficult starting.
No rhyme or reason which engine will be difficult starting
At times the Port engine is difficult starting and Stern engine starts.
Other times Stern starts easily & port is difficult
Stern engine has the power steering pump
What does not make sense is the pattern .
Today I drove with engine cover open too keep compartment cool
I keep blower fans running when engines closed while fishing
I had a tough time starting starboard engine and had too drive quite sometime with no power steering. Eventually I was able too start, keeping starboard engine in N. fast idle, avoiding stall , this way I had power steering. Many times when I get a hard too start engine too start and I put into gear is stalls again.
During past year fuel pumps were replaced with new ones .
Rails recently cleaned on both engines
new fuel lines, new filters.
Fuel octane is 89 marine

Fuel is one tank with two separate fuel lines going too each fuel cell
Since both engines fluctuate on starting all roads lead back too fuel tank which feeds both engines ???
NOTE - I did have a unique issue , My fuel tank was burping . At times, Was not able too get the fuel handle all the way into fill. The nipple that held the cap chain was stopping nozzle from going all the way in.

Since it was not all the way in air was mixing causing fuel too come back at me. Not all the time and was aware staying clear while fueling.
Recently corrected by bending nipple and now no more burping, fuel handle goes all the way down the hose.
MAYBE JUST MAYBE there is still air in the tank ??? should come out from vent also filled tank totally full so there is no air in tank ?????
I see others say gasoline gets hot ?
Engine room too hot
Fuel falls back ?? on both engines
Speaking with others they say add a fuel additive ?

Boat is kept at a in/out marina ocean side ,usually around Nov I tow boat inland leaving at a shop parked few months, they do my yearly service . They could solve this problem but until I get there any ideas ??

Its nothing to do with air in the tank. I'm thinking a bad connection somewhere, check the connectors to the TPS and IAC, then the main engine connector. If it tries to start but doesn't it could be vapor lock, but if it can be started with the throttle at higher rpm's and dies when brought back to idle then look at the IAC.
