I've done a search of IBOATS forum and have not been able to discover an answer. There has been several postings but no replies.
I would like to install the "Digital Trollmaster Trottle Control" on my Mercury 8hp trolling motor. It would be purchased from mail order, which means "will it work for my application", or package it up and send it back. This always a pain for everyone involved.
I believe my motor is a '01, but I do know it is a 2-stroke Mercury.
The tiller arm not only controls the direction, but also the forward, reverse. and motor speed. I can live without directional (another project), but what happens to my forward and reverse capabilities. Do I loose the reverse function?
My dream is that someone has installed 1 of these on their motor and can lead me in the right direction. Thank you for any opinions you may have on this subject.
