Dipstick wont go all the way back in

Any ideas? I have a 4.3L OMC engine V6. Cant seem to get the diptick to go in all the way. Goes about half way and just stops....

Some are a PITA.

On my Cadillac you have to twist it while it's going in or it will only go in part of the way.

The one on my 5.7 L OMC is really hard to get it in no matter what you do to it.

Sounds like the dipstick is getting caught and going above the windage rather than under it, try putting a slight downward bend at the lower last couple inches of the stick to quide it home, you can always bend it back if doesn't work.

I have the same engine. Turn the stick around and push but not too hard. It will go in.

this makes me laugh, I couldn't get my dipstick back in my old mercruiser. I bent the tube to get it back in lol.
