Hey everyone my name is Brian I am a 7 year disabled Marine Corps veteran. I live in Colorado and this weekend I am flying to Tampa, Florida to see my father for a 3 day fishing trip. His boat is already to go minus one small problem!!! If you can post some pictures with a barney style explanation of how to fix the issue it would mean the world to me so that we can indeed go fishing as planned!

He said he has a 1995 Mercury 200 2.5

He needs picture of the carbs and holes with what size jets go where??

Basically he has been having trouble with the idling of the boat and today they told him it would cost $600 bucks just to fix the jets and make sure they are in the right holes in the carbs?

Thank you so much ahead of time for whoever can help!!!!!!

Gee, why would the jets ever change positions? Is the boat new to him? If he looks up his motor on the crowleymarine web site, he should see a breakaway picture of the carbs. They will tell him the range of jet sizes. A Mercury Marine service manual will tell him the exact jets sizes that came with the motor.

There should be six adjustments for mixture to each cylinder. Provided the carbs are clean, he can adjust them for smooth idle.

Boats are nothing new to him but I think he rebuilt the carbs and maybe put the jets in the wrong places Im guessing? Or the wrong size jets in the wrong holes. Just trying to save $600 bucks.....

OEM Service manuals will tell him which jets go where. They are less than $100.
