I have 1989 twin 130 yamahas with the dual engine fuel managment. the fuel tanks were replaced and they did not install fuel level senders in the new tanks. the fuel managment is not working. I bought a
floscan unit to install. is there any problems with diconecting the factory system? i bought the boat in
this condition. thanks

hello
are you sure your 1989's have a fuel management gauge? its a multifunction gauge that has fuel flow as well as trip time and distance traveled and fuel used in one gauge. or are you talking about the factory 7 funciton fuel gauges that also display battery state and other engine information? let me know and i can advise better

good luck and keep posting

it is one big gauge that has fuel level, flow, time and other functions. it has a mode and a set button.

hello
what you have is a flowscan. try to find someone to test the system. usually the senders or harness is bad or dissconected. but if you want to remove it just disconnect it and remove it.
good luck and keep posting

Re: disconect fuel managment

I bought a floscan for my previous boat and never installed it. the one on this boat is a factory Yamaha gauge. it has a water temp, battery and fuel light at the bottom and at the top it reads: speed, trip, time. just wanted to make sure all of the other warninigs will work if it is disconected. on my ignition switches it says Yamaha dual engine controls.
