Discovered lost AF when dewinterized boat

Folks, I just summerized my boat. Had used the -100 deg F antifreeze (Starbright Green) over the last 3 years with no issues.
Last October, I basically drained the block, used a wired to poke the holes in the block and once all drained, I filled the system with the AF through the hoses at the T-stat. It takes about 4-5 gallons.

This weekend, I went to drain the AF in the driveway (collecting the AF) and only reclaimed a gallon. Baffled on where it went and why? Any ideas.

I checked the oil and looks clean. Ran the engine with muffs for 15 minutes. Reached operating temperature and temp held steady. I saw no leaks from anywhere in the engine compartment.

I thought maybe a loose clamp might have leaked. Any other thoughts on how I may have lost the AF? Any recommendations before I head back to the cottage to have a peek?

Thanks in advance for your help.

It doesn't really matter. It runs and cools right. I'd say be happy and don't sweat it.
But if you really have to figure it out, did you open and poke the petcocks and pull the lower j shaped radiator hose? The cooling system might have been hiding the remaining coolant and then spit it out when you ran the motor.
And don't bother putting coolant in the block for the winter, it's not needed.

Re: Discovered lost AF when dewinterized boat

My engine has the single point drain system. So there is no petcock at the bottom of the j shaped hose. The one valve stem drains the whole system. I'm thinking I either did not crank the valve shut hard enough or I did not reinstall the clamps to the manifolds hard enough. I loosen the clamps on the hose manifolds and remove the hose so I can see they are drained and then reinstall them. Any other thoughts? It's just bothering me because I I usually see at least 4 of the 5 gallons come back. Is it possible also that the rubber hoses contracted in the freezing temps and caused a leak?
