Good luck boys! Y'all have fun up there! Be safe! Your launch looked amazing.

The last launch of space shuttle Discovery has gone off without a hitch.

I watched it on TV and on the computer.
"Go for Throttle Up" still brings a tear to my eye.

End of a proud era, I hope they honor Discovery properly in her retirement....

Was there for the launch. That's something to view. The sight and sounds were awe inspiring. Only 2 more Orbiter Launches until the fleet is retired. :(:(

I was there for the first one, and I'll try my darndest to be there for the last. I don't think that I'm up to spending the night in a tree like the first time.....I think my brother is going to have a major depression over this. He's worked his whole career on the shuttle program and gets to shut out the lights. Say goodnight, Gracie.

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I?ve climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds, ? and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov?ring there,
I?ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless falls of air...
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I?ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, nor eer eagle flew ?
And, while with silent lifting mind I?ve trod
The high, untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.

I am very excited to learn that Discovery is going to the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum. I will definitely be making a special trip down to see it.
