Distributor 2-wire Ignition Sensor Help

2002 Mercruiser 4.3L/LH - My original 2-wire ignition sensor (# CU101501 cherry) measured no resistance. I bought what was supposedly the correct replacement (3-Wire). It is too large to fit inside the distributor.... As most suppliers don't allow returns on electrical components, I wonder if anyone here has been where i am now = stumped

The 3 wire should bolt right in. BTDT a few times

Thank You for your reply,... However, The 3-wire sensor I bought that was supposed to supercede the original is too large to fit in my distributor...

did you buy a quicksilver brand, or something else. post a pic of your distributor and the two hall effect pickups

agreed wrong part or he has a different dizzy (but wires are correct color for TB...)

The kits I all used walked thru the install. I bought off of Crowley and BAM

got my 3 wire from candy marine, bolted right in
