Re: DMV Closed!!

If you haven't left yet I would stop by the sheriffs office. Usually they can write a temp tag for anything if you explain the situation.

What part of CT?

I know that if you're out in my neck of the woods all you have to do is obey the speed in the harbor and you're fine.

Many states are giving state workers extra days off without pay, as a way to cut costs and balance budgets.

They like to pick the Friday before a holiday to give them a longer weekend, to keep the griping to a minimum.

In CA, as long as you say "check's in the mail" you get a 30-day grace period. Check your state's DMV site.

Well here in utah they work 4 tens and have fridays off, my wife works for the div. of wildlife. You want to see some PO'd people go to the div. offices on a friday and watch some of the hunters that can't buy a licence cause they are closed. Also around here you can do all of it online and even print out a temp reg permit until your stickers arrive in the mail, so much better than the trip to the dmv. Also alot of auto inspection/emission stations will renew RV stickers for an additional five bucks over the cost of the original reg fees.

Most states give you at least 10 day grace period. Make 100% sure you are legal and safe in every other aspect. Pretend you are the officer and anything that looks questionable, fix it. Have life jackes on everyone, and have not one can of beer. The fine should be minimal if at all. I personally would chance it.
