Re: DMV screwing up - FINALLY FIXED!!
Someone many years ago used my name during a traffic stop and I have some unpaid speeding ticket in Boston, MA because of it. I found out about it while trying to get a NC driving license. I took the tests, car and MC, and was told no-go at the last step. I had to contact MA DMV to clear it up on my own. I call them and they tell me I have to show up in person.. I live in NC for crying out loud!
Long story short, they finally agree to have me fax them a page full of my signature (I guess for comparison of the ticket signature). After comparing the two they acknowledge it wasn't me and agree to clear it and mail me an "all clear" letter. Well, they didn't clear anything up and the letter they sent was an "All clear for 14 days" letter. Literally, the letter said the ticket was not mine, but after 14 days I was guilty again. So every time I have to do anything license based I have to repeat the same process.
Who is the flaming idiot who thought up this "Temporarily innocent, but always guilty" rule? If I ever find out, I'll be sure to get a speeding ticket in his name here in NC..
