I've always had inboards or outboards. Tilt is necessary on my next boat because I was to use in in shallows or beach it. What do I look for
when buying?

Thanks.....

Tony

Any modern ones will. Unless, you get into the huge commercial types.

You may want an outboard because boats with I/O take a lot more water. the leg of the I/O cannot be fully raised when running due to strain on the u-joints. With an OB you can tilt it as far as you want so long as the water pickups are still submerged. I have a 17ft OB with an Alpha 1 drive and need at least 2.5 - 3 feet to operate in.
