Do I have enough horsepower?

I have a 18 1/2 foot semi flat bottom hull and a 1964 90hp Johnson outboard motor. Is this enough horsepower for this size boat? And, about how many MPH's can I expect?

If the boat's not too heavy I am guessing decent performance and around 35 MPH.

Your question is a little to vague to be answered. Is this an aluminum or a fiberglass boat? What vintage? We love pictures!!

A 90 horse motor on an 18.5 foot trihull won't do much the same engine on an 18.5 foot tinny would fly.
