Maybe someone can help...

I bought a 1989 Reinell 181SR and it is setting on a ShoreLand'r trailer. The trailer VIN stickers have long been worn off and I am unable to locate a VIN anywhere else.
In looking at the ShoreLand'r website I am unable to see where they ever provided trailers for Reinell boats. Does anyone know if they did?

My concern is that the trailer is actually rated to haul that boat, or its the boat to heavy fro it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... post up some pictures of the boat on the wagon,....

To figure the capacity of the wagon, you can measure the size of the axle quill, inside the hub, for it's diameter,...
Also, check the weight ratin' of the tires, 'n total that by the number of tires,....

The wagon can haul up to the lightest weight component of the wagon,...
Aka: 2000lb axles, with 4000lb tires can only haul the 2000lbs the axles will hold,....

Where exactly do I measure the Quill? I'm not sure what that is. :cold:

Here are the only pictures I have right now.

That's a nice looking rig. likely matched...is there a sticker on the axle shaft? pulling wheels off, hubs, and yanking bearings to measure.. that's probably a 2500lb axle..... if your not happy with "probably", measure em.. if you have to, installing a new axle, say 3500lb is only about $150..

in the late 80's a lot of Reinell's came with TI Trailers. I have no clue if that was the only one they used. My 89 Reinell has a TI Trailer. It looks like yours matches the boat.

Re: Do I have the wrong trailer?

Thanks for all the replies. I was able to get a VIN (1MDDC8R17KK388454) for it and the Shoreland'r website says it is a model number BR1820-24. I can't find any other information by that model # on their site showing specs though. One of the reason for asking the initial question is that the trailer bunks do not extend to the end of the transom. the boat is about 5 inches past the end of the bunk. Is that a problem? The winch is as far forward as it can go on the trailer.

Thanks again for all the help.

Re: Do I have the wrong trailer?

You defiately want the bunks to extend past the transom. The trailer that you have may work, but you definately need to replace your bunks with longer ones.
