Do I have to epoxy the floor up before or during putting in a DecoDot floor?

I have been looking at those products for the deck of my Bayliner. I think it would be best to coat the deck and up the hull, chair bases, etc with a coat of epoxy. Then install the Decko Dot. The problem I have with these deck products is that there are seams, and seams will eventually leak, or water will get in around the edge and once the water is under the vinyl, it will promote rot. So sealing the plywood with epoxy is mandatory to preserve the plywood.

Lately I'm leaning toward using epoxy with a color agent, then apply a second coat with a non-slip additive or simple play sand to give a grip. That way I don't have to worry about water getting under a vinyl deck covering.

Also, when I called and asked about installation of the Decko Dots, they were vague as to how to install and just suggested floor adhesive. So I was not very impressed with that sites sales support.

What Mark said; epoxy seals. It may take a thinned coat, then normal coat.

I was brainstorming a while ago. I have absolutely no experience with epoxy or fiberglass though so bare with me. Could screen type material with square mesh me used before a final layer of epoxy to provide a textured surface? i would want a uniformed textured look if im going to go with just an epoxy coating on my deck.

I read somewhere that a factory look non-slip surface can be made by using a common paint roller over the wet epoxy before it starts to set up. Gives it that rippled, bumpy look.
