The guy who said "My friend will do it for 300" well he is a marine mechanic and is pretty much on boats everyday.

The guy who said "pay the 500" is a mechanic for bmw who has been through 10 years of automotive school (he's REALLY good at what he does).

I'm sure he could help me figure out how to get at the whole bottom without moving it off the trailer.....I will just do this myself, I've been reading for a few months about how to do it, but I haven't found anyone who wants to do it just like me.

I don't really want to move the trailer out from under the boat. I'd rather just jack the boat up and leave the trailer there and use rollers and such to get to the bottom.

I think you need new friends,I personally wouldn't charge for helping a friend out,but I will say that when I help out I do eat good and I do like to eat

I understand your situation. I learned long ago that "only a fool will not listen to the advice of someone who knows more than he does" Your friends evidently dont know but there are plenty of folks here that do and will give you solid advice. Speaking of friends, a neighbor who doesnt even work has asked me several times to help him take his cars to the dealer to be droped off and Ive always did it. Last week when the wife went out of town and parked her car uptown I asked this neighbor if he would run me up there to get it (would only take about 20 minutes) he wouldnt and gave me a lame reason.."Im just worn out" I think Im going to have diarear" "sorry"...Well needless to say it will be a long..longggggggggggg time before I do any more favors for him..This guy has the mechanical ability of a cockroach and he needs me alot more than I need him. I just fixed his lawn mower 2 weeks ago for free and he best hope it never breaks again......cause "Im just worn out"

ask yourself some questions , do you like to sand , breath dust, wear dust, lay on your back and reach and crawl every move. wear half the paint. technically of course you can. but a marina with a lift, the professional tools, a guy who has already ruined someone else gel coat. and likes to paint. I opt to do what I do best and leave what others do better than me to do . especially painting.
put in a little ot on the job, or what ever to make the bucks and get a pro to do it. .

I did mine lifted off the trailer with a forklift. My back took a beating on that one.

Some locations do have the services that could have redone the bottom paint for what I bought the paint for. I took a crack at it anyways and at least I know how it got done.

I just don't get it.

Sounds like no boat rides for them this season, They wont want to be on a perfectly functioning boat that those idiots online helped trouble shoot or provided tips on best products or tips on how to paint the bottom!

If you think about it they are calling you an idiot to since your online with the rest of us....that there tells you why they keep giving you a hard time!

I vote new friends......get prettier ones that cant speak English and fetch Beer!!

I'm with him on that one I'm afraid. Some super hot spinny chick that brings beer. You'll get the same quality advice but with better benefits. If she's spinny enough she might not even have her own opinions>
