Went to the boat dealer yesterday to order a new wiring harness and a mercury switch. The guy said I really didn't need a new switch since I have tilt and trim on the boat. Is he right in saying that or should I go ahead and replace it anyway?
Re: Do I really need to replace my Mercury Switch?
G'Day. The mercury switch is there to cut the motor if you tilt it too high. The motor will run fine without it. Personally I would leave it out. However please don't post a topic titled "motor overheated because I tilted the motor too high"
Re: Do I really need to replace my Mercury Switch?
Thanks Whaley,<br />I hope I don't have to post one of those messages. I would hope I'm smart enough to remember to cut the motor when I trim it up but ya just never know..... .
