Re: Do most carry a spare propeller in the boat?

I have a soft-sided cooler aboard with a spare prop (identical to the prop I usually run), extra prop nut, tabbed washer, big needle-nose pliars (to remove the tabbed washer), prop grease, floating prop wrench, and 2 X 4 block. If I spin a prop on Lake Powell, it could be 20 miles to the nearest marina. I should try to change it in the water, just so I know what I'm up against!

Always. Spare Prop, thrust washer, other washers, prop nut and cotter pins. I also have all the tools needed to change it. Ever since I hit a submerged log and had to wait about an hour for someone to come along and have them tow me about 5 miles back I am prepared. I figured its kind of like Murphy's Law. If I have all the parts and the tools I will never need them.
